LIVE GREEN THINK PINK

If spring was about thinking pink, summer at Longchamp is an invitation to go green.

From the vegetable garden to the market, from the river bank to a walk in the meadows, the Longchamp woman follows the path of the sun. In her bag is a mix of natural materials, emblematic leathers, gingham and broderie anglaise as Longchamp gives a green light to summer.

Rediscovering the taste of tomatoes, picking carrots, seasoning her dishes with herbs from the garden… From the moment she wakes up, she matches her outfits to summer’s natural produce. From beetroot red to artichoke green – the keynote of the collection – vegetables set the tone. Gardening clothes are subverted, with aprons transformed into cross-back sundresses or long skirts in cotton-linen or leather with strap details. She stashes her vegetable-patch finds in her new signature basket and replaces her open-back loafers with wedge sandals.

Though she spends most of her time in the city, she adapts to the rural lifestyle with short overall dresses and leather playsuits, and swaps a gardening gilet for an elegant sleeveless jacket. For her, taste – in every sense – is all-important. Home-made dishes are all the more delicious when served to a large table. She loves to visit the village market, never forgetting her roomy Cabas Longchamp in canvas or leather, which she carries both in Paris and in the country. For lunch, she chooses the season’s Herbier motif for a look that’s as enticing as the meal. She protects herself from the sun with a raffia hat crafted in Madagascar by the NGO Anaka and from showers with a colorful, reversible bucket hat in waterproof canvas.

LISTE DE CONTRÔLE DE L'ÉTÉ

Afternoons in the country offer moments of simplicity and energy. She skips a nap in favor of a stroll, for which she wears a knit ensemble, its airy crop top and short shorts offering freedom of movement. She carries a bag in printed canvas knotted over her shoulder, or perhaps a Re-Play bucket whose interwoven straps match her leather and rope sandals. Reconnecting with nature, she savors every moment of the day. Sunshine illuminates the season’s Escapade Bucolique floral motif, which comes in print or embroidery, while smocking and broderie anglaise add a sweet, whimsical touch to her style. For an impromptu dip, she slips into her favorite asymmetric swimsuit with its bamboo toggle detail which matches her new K.JACQUES sandals and Le Roseau bag in smooth calfskin leather. When dinner time comes around, this garden-party girl loves to don a long, flowing dress. Timeless gingham nods to the colors of the sunset and the tablecloths of French country houses, while small and large checks play on her linen kimono jacket and her iconic Le Roseau bag.

Sophie Delafontaine - Longchamp Creative Director

“For this collection, I was inspired by the idea of returning to a family home – the pleasure of being in contact with the earth and with nature, and of being surrounded by loved ones, laughter and high spirits. However, the mood is not nostalgic, because we draw our energy from the present moment.”

SUMMER CHECKLIST

Colors are full of flavor. Like garden herbs – sage, verbena, eucalyptus – or summer vegetables – artichokes, beetroots, tomatoes, carrots –, they give a healthy glow. The print of the season is gingham. With its small or large checks, summer is more fun.

Bags are the perfect holiday companion. In leather or printed cotton canvas, Le Roseau is as elegant as ever. In the same materials, Cabas Longchamp totes are ready for a trip to the market or a shopping spree. Not forgetting the Re-Play bucket bag, whose interwoven straps are crafted from Longchamp surplus materials, which is always ready to play.

Cuts are free and easy. Overall dresses, revisited aprons and leather playsuits open new style perspectives. The signature piece to wear well beyond summer? The gingham kimono jacket!
